STANLEY RAYMOND JOHNSON
DIED 15th DECEMBER 2006
AGE 82 YEARS OLD
ON LEAVING SCHOOL MY DAD (STAN) JOINED THE ROYAL NAVY,
HE RECIEVED 4 MEDAL'S DURING THE WAR,
1, WAS THE 1939 - 1945 STAR.
2, FRANCE & GERMANY INVASION 6th JUNE 1944.
3, DEFENCE MEDAL.
4, 1939 - 1945 WAR MEDAL.
THESE I WILL TREASURE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE,
ON LEAVING THE ROYAL NAVY HE WENT TO SEA ON THE FISHING VESSALS HE SAILED FROM HULL & GRIMSBY, ON A NUMBER OF SHIPS THE LAST SHIP HE SAILED ON BEFORE THE FISHING INDUSTERY WAS OVER WAS THE ROSS JAGUAR FROM GRIMSBY. HE THEN JOINED THE STANDBY SUPPLY BOATS, HE SERVED AS A 2nd ENGINEER FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, BEFORE HE HAD TO RETIRED AT THE AGE OF 69 YEARS OLD.
ON LEAVING THE SEA HE GOT A JOB AS A SECURITY GUARD AT HUMBROL IN HULL. HE WORKED THERE UNTIL THE AGE OF 81 YEARS OLD.
HE THEN RETIRED IN APRIL 2005 TO SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME WITH HIS WIFE (MARION). BUT IN MARCH 2006 THEY LOST THERE GRANDSON THIS WAS A TERRABLE SHOCK TO EVERYONE INCLUDING MY DAD, AS IN THE APRIL OF 2006 HE BECAME ILL, HE SPENT 2 MONTH'S IN HOSPITAL, WHERE HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER OF THE GULLET, HE CAME HOME. THIS IS WHERE HE DIED ON 15th DECEMBER 2006 AT HOME SURROUNDED BY HIS WIFE AND ALL THE FAMILY.
HE WILL BE REMEMBERED ALWAY'S BY US ALL, AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING THE FINEST GENTLEMAN ANYONE COULD EVER HOPE TO MEET IN A LIFE TIME. HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED BY EVERYONE THAT EVER MET HIM. GOD BLESS NOW RE-UNITED WITH LOVED ONES.
NOW AT REST WITH HIS MUM & DAD,
RESTING WITH HIS TWO SON'S STANLEY & DEREK,
AND HIS BELOVED GRANSON PAUL,
WALKING IN HEAVEN WITH SHEENA HIS BELOVED DOG.

I'm Free!
I'm Free! Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His
hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh,
to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at close of day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy of a friendship, shares, a laugh, a
kiss, and yet these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the
sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full,I savored much. Good friends, good times,a loved one's
touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,don't lengthen it now with undue grief, lift up your
heart and share with me God wants me now. He set me Free!
